I’ve been wandering about, trying to sketch up some new pieces. For a number of years, the possibility of digital models has intrigued me though in the past, the interfaces have proved troublesome and thus discouraging. I want an element of realism, but don’t want to muck about with a human model. I’ve found that it just adds to the process, another step that distills the original idea. So I’ve taken to the open source applications Blender and MakeHuman. I’d say these stand as proof of concept. The next step would be to paint over these renders or start anew and draw from them.
